Same Body. Completely Different Life.

PCOS, Yoga, and What Real Hormone Healing Looks Like

This photo was taken six years apart. At first, it may not look like a dramatic transformation. But when it comes to PCOS, hormone balance, and long-term health, the most powerful changes often happen beneath the surface. The real shift wasn’t weight loss, though that did help. It was learning how to work with my body instead of fighting it.

When PCOS Felt Like a Battle

In the photo on the left, I was managing PCOS with hormone pills and zero willpower.

I was:

  • Disconnected from my body

  • Experiencing constant weight fluctuations

  • Caught in cycles of restriction, intensity, and burnout

  • Mentally and physically in pain

I tried to control my symptoms through harder workouts and stricter rules. Instead, my body became more resistant. It felt like it was working against me. I now understand that PCOS is not just a hormonal condition — it’s deeply connected to stress, inflammation, and nervous system regulation. But at the time, I didn’t know how to listen.

The Shift That Changed Everything

The photo on the right was taken in summer 2025. I’m no longer on hormone pills. I manage my PCOS naturally — and sustainably. Yoga became the turning point back in 2021, not as a workout, but as a regulatory practice. It taught me how to slow down, rebuild trust with my body, and create consistency instead of extremes.

This wasn’t a quick fix. It was a gradual return to balance. And it changed how my body responded to everything.

This Is Not a “Before & After” Story

My body isn’t perfect.

But it is:

  • Regulated

  • Supported

  • Strong

  • Alive

This is what real body recomposition and hormone healing look like — subtle, steady, and rooted in self-trust rather than control.

Why I Share This

If you’re navigating PCOS, hormone imbalance, weight fluctuations, or body image struggles, I want you to know this: You're not alone.

Healing is possible. Your body is not broken. Progress doesn’t have to be extreme to be real

I’ll be sharing more about:

  • How yoga supports hormone regulation

  • What actually helped me manage PCOS long-term

  • Why the nervous system works matters more than intensity

  • How to build a sustainable relationship with your body

This is not medical advice or a one-stop shop formula. But as a lived, evolving practice. To help others who are on similar journeys to me to better understand how I got here, keep following YOGA DU SOMMET. Sometimes we still see who we were. But we don’t live there anymore.

With Love,

Yasmin
